The Facts

  • On Sunday, the Libertarian Party announced Chase Oliver, a former Georgia Senate candidate, as their candidate for the November presidential election. The Libertarian National Convention chose Oliver over both Robert F. Kenney Jr. and President Donald Trump, who both sought the party's nomination.

  • After seven hours of voting, the convention chose Oliver, 38. In his acceptance speech, he described himself as "armed and gay." He also urged an end to Israel's war with Hamas in Gaza, adding, "End the genocide."

The Libertarian Party rejected both Trump and Kennedy as they sought a more youthful candidate for the 2024 presidential election in Chase Oliver. At age 38, it is Oliver's first attempt at becoming President of the United States. Kennedy's primary objective is to unite all independent and third-party organizations in order to take back contro

Former President Donald Trump faced a hostile reception from a Libertarian audience when he delivered a speech at the Libertarian Party's national convention. As he urged the guests to consider nominating him or at least voting for him, he faced loud and continuous booing. In the end, Trump failed to submit the required documents for the Libertarian nomination, as he is expected to be the Republican nominee. It is not possible to represent two political parties in the same election.
