The Facts

  • US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other top officials in Israel on Monday. Sullivan held “constructive” talks regarding normalization with Saudi Arabia.

  • Karim Khan, the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, on Monday applied for arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, as well as three Hamas leaders Yehia Sinwar, Mohammed Deif, and Ismail Haniyeh.

The Spin

Israel has the right to defend itself from terrorist attacks and an obligation to get hostages back from malicious actors. It's beyond outrageous to drawtarget a parallel between the leader of a democratic country andin the same breath as the leader of a terrorist group. ICC's action is a deep distortion of justice and a complete moral failure.

When it comes to the war or Palestinians more broadly, the UN and its associated bodies are evidently biased against the Jewish state. ICC's attempt to issue arrest warrants against Hamas leaders is akin to equating the victim with the executioner. It encourages Israel to continue its extermination and crimes against humanity against Gaza.
