Paredes, who worked at Spirit's factory in Wichita, Kansas, reportedly claimed "it was very rare" for him and other employees to not find any defects with the plane bodies.

Two Boeing plane crashes killed 346 people in 2018-19. A former employee who'd exposed defects, too, died on May 2—the second whistleblower to die in 2024.
