Barham Salih

Barham Salih is an Iraqi Kurdish politician and engineer who served as the eighth President of Iraq from October 2018 to October 2022, after holding key roles such as Deputy Prime Minister of Iraq and Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government between 2004 and 2012. A graduate of Cardiff University and the University of Liverpool. He is the founder of the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani, and now serves as a senior fellow at institutions like Harvard’s Belfer Center and MIT’s Middle East Initiative.
