Shinjirō Koizumi
Shinjirō Koizumi is a Japanese politician serving as Minister of Defense since October 2025. Born on April 14, 1981, he is the second son of former Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi and has served as a Member of the House of Representatives for the Liberal Democratic Party representing Kanagawa's 11th district since 2009. He previously held cabinet positions as Minister of the Environment (2019-2021) and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (May-October 2025), and holds a master's degree in political science from Columbia University.
