Sanae Takaichi

Sanae Takaichi is a Japanese politician serving as Minister of Economic Security since 2021 under Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. A Liberal Democratic Party member since 1993, she previously held portfolios including Internal Affairs and Communications. The 63-year-old lawmaker represents Nara's 2nd district and unsuccessfully sought the LDP presidency in 2021 and 2024.
