Anthony Fauci is an American physician and immunologist who directed the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases from 1984 to 2022. He served as an advisor to several US presidents and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by George W. Bush in 2008 for his work on AIDS relief. He assisted in leading the United States' response to the COVID pandemic before retiring in 2022.
