Mehmet Oz

Dr. Mehmet Öz is a Turkish American cardiothoracic surgeon, Yale- and Wharton-educated author, and Emmy-winning television personality best known for hosting The Dr. Oz Show from 2009 to 2022. In 2025, he was confirmed by the U.S. Senate to serve as the 17th Administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), overseeing a vast federal health programs portfolio including Medicare and Medicaid, despite facing scrutiny over prior promotion of unproven health claims and lack of federal administrative experience.
