National Intelligence Council

The National Intelligence Council (NIC) is a U.S. government agency within the Office of the Director of National Intelligence that provides strategic intelligence assessments and long-term analysis to senior policymakers, including the President and National Security Council. Established in 1979, the NIC produces the widely cited Global Trends reports, offering forward-looking assessments on global political, economic, and security developments to inform U.S. national security strategy.
