Shenna Bellows

Shenna Bellows is Maine's Secretary of State, serving since January 2021. A Democrat and former executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Maine (2005-2013), she previously served in the Maine Senate (2016-2020). In December 2023, she controversially removed Donald Trump from Maine's 2024 primary ballot under the 14th Amendment's insurrection clause, a decision later overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court.
