Elena Kagan

Elena Kagan is an American lawyer and jurist who was appointed by President Barack Obama and confirmed by the Senate in August 2010 as the fourth woman to serve on the Supreme Court. Prior to her appointment she served as U.S. Solicitor General—the first woman in that role—and was Dean of Harvard Law School, where she led significant reforms in academic programs, faculty growth, and student engagement.
