The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is a United States scientific and regulatory agency within the Department of Commerce that focuses on the conditions of the oceans, major waterways, and the atmosphere. NOAA provides weather forecasts, monitors oceanic and atmospheric conditions, charts the seas, conducts deep sea exploration, and manages fishing and protection of marine mammals and endangered species.
