Angus Reid (born December 17, 1947, in Regina, Saskatchewan) is a Canadian entrepreneur, sociologist, and prominent public opinion researcher. He earned a B.A. and M.A. in Sociology from the University of Manitoba and a Ph.D. in Sociology from Carleton University in 1974. In 1979, Reid founded the Angus Reid Group, which became Canada's largest market research firm by 2001, with revenues of $60 million before being sold to Ipsos SA in 2000. He later served as CEO of Vision Critical and founded the Angus Reid Institute in 2014, a non-profit organization dedicated to public opinion research on critical social, economic, and policy issues. In 2019, he returned from retirement to launch Angus Reid Global, a market research and opinion polling firm serving businesses and organizations across Canada and globally.
